This book takes a look at the success of entrepreneurs in history. Why did some fail and others succeed? The environment within which they strived was a key element of their success or failure. Their personal characteristics were important in overcoming the obstacles in their paths and contributed to their achievements.

Entrepreneurs in History -- Success vs. Failure provides examples of entrepreneurship in nine sets of three chapters. The first chapter in each set is a profile of an unsuccessful or a less successful entrepreneur, the second chapter is a biographical sketch of an entrepreneur who succeeded, and the third chapter in the set provides a summary and analysis of the factors that caused one entrepreneur to fail and another to succeed.

Profiles of four entrepreneurs provide examples of early failure/late success and cases of converting failure into success. Evaluation of the factors contributing to the ultimate success of these entrepreneurs helps the reader to understand their achievements.
